Microsoft taking the fight to VMware with Server 2012.

Interesting deck by MS regarding what is coming out in Server 2012 for their Virtualization tech.  I have this running in my lab on 2 servers already, and I will say it does what the PDF says.  This is a pretty incredible step up in the game for Microsoft.  

The built in DR replication that rivals SRM under VMware is a game changer for companies.   The “Shared Nothing” LiveMigration and VM movement makes it a great system for SMB companies and large companies alike. 

Everything in that deck is inclued with the server license for Server 2012.  No additional purchases needed to use any of that.   System Center 2012 just makes it better as an option. (for doing full private clouds with automation, and seamless management)

This deck was released in early April which is why it still references Server “8”  which as since been announced to be Server 2012.   Which from info I’ve seen should be coming ~ the October/November timeframe.  If not earlier.   Time to start planning fellow IT geeks.
