Setting up a tent blindfolded?

posted in: Backpacking / Hiking, Video | 0

A video from our groups graduation hike on Segment 9 of the CT last Sept.

On the 8 mile hike in, I was chatting with some of the students about knowing your gear inside and out, and being able to set camp up in sub optimal conditions.   I mentioned I’ve set my tent up enough that I could do it blind folded.   Then one of the students made a bet with me… and the above video is the result.

The bet was they would buy me a beer for every minute under 10 minutes I completed it in.  I would owe them a beer for every minute I was over.     I did it in under 8 🙂

This is a crazy easy tent to setup though – a TarpTent Moment DW.

Try this at home kids 🙂
