My CMC group took on the Segment 9 of the Colorado Trail for our 3 day “graduation hike” on Sept 18th. It was a super fun time with everyone! First night it was a frigid 22F (below freezing by the time the sun went down). Day 2 was better but still close to freezing all night.
Our students rocked it though! A group even took a day hike after getting to the day 2 location and ended up bushwhacking for a few hours to try and find an elusive lake.
We had camp fires both nights, and tons of laughs. Our group was truly special in their chemistry and this closing trip of the season made it even better.
